More about the Retreat:
The Chakra Yoga and Art Retreat is a ½ day yoga seminar paired up with a silk panel painting class with Silkstones in Motion. The cost is $80 and includes light refreshments and a beverage voucher for the day of the retreat. You will leave with a simple yoga sequence and handouts for home reference, Chakra visualization methods, and a beautiful 8” silk mobile.
Yoga Session:
What are Chakra’s? A Chakra is a wheel of energy that is located along your spine. When you have blocked energy in one of your Chakra’s you suffer from disease, emotional disturbance and chronic pain. Each Chakra has unique attributes such as a mandala, and color. We will examine the 7 Chakra’s on the spine and learn a simple sequence to open, energize and strengthen them and your whole body. This retreat is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience. If you do not normally practice yoga this is an excellent opportunity to learn and integrate it into your life.
Painting Session:
Painting on a Silk Panel is a wonderful exploration of color. You will choose the Chakra that most appeals to you and trace that pattern onto a transparent silk panel. Through a layering effect of cold water, paint, and salt you will complete a beautiful Chakra Mandala to hang in your home. The process will be guided by Deb Sudnickovich of Silkstones in Motion. She is an award winning artist and talented teacher and you will be amazed at what you can produce in an afternoon!
Refreshments:
Light Appetizers and a complementary beverage voucher (included in your welcome bag) will be provided during the painting portion of the retreat. There is a period of drying for the mobile where we will have the opportunity to mingle with new friends and take in the beautiful view of Priest Lake.
Schedule of Retreat:
8:30-9: Check-In Session 1
9-11:30: Yoga Session 1
Yoga Session 1; break for lunch and recreation till 3pm
12-12:30: Check-In Session 2
12:30-3: Yoga Session 2
3-5:30: Yoga Session 1 and Session 2; Painting and Refreshments
Choose a morning or afternoon session for the yoga. Both yoga groups will meet up at 3pm to start the painting project. If you choose the morning session you can spend the afternoon exploring the groomed cross-country trails or snowshoe around the resort, or relax and read a book next to the fire. Likewise if you choose the afternoon session, the morning is yours to recreate as you please.
Weekend Events:
If you want to make a whole weekend of it, on Friday, January 30th there is a wine tasting at Hill’s Resort with J. Bookwalter out of Richland, WA. They have sumptuous wines, all named after literary terms, that delight the senses!
Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday, find yourself planted in front of one of Hill’s Resort big screen TV’s.
Not a football fan? Take the day to hit the trails on your snowshoes, or Cross-country skis, or treat your body with a relaxing massage.
